The tournament organizer revealed that the upcoming DreamHack Open event will not feature qualifiers, with all eight teams to be decided through invites.
DreamHack Open Montreal 2018 is scheduled for September 7-9, being one of the first tournaments to be played after the official CS:GO player break. The tournament will follow the standard DreamHack Open guidelines, featuring eight teams and a $100,000 prize pool, except in one part — there will be no qualifiers for the event.
The tournament is placed in a busy period, as it follows shortly after two $250,000+ events, ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 Grand Finals and DreamHack Masters Stockholm, and overlaps with the New Challenger Stage of the FACEIT London Major. Due to that, the player break, the Minors and Minor qualifiers, and other qualifiers that followed beforehand, DreamHack has decided to not hold qualifiers for DreamHack Open Montreal.
As of now, no teams have been confirmed for the event.
